BRESSY THE ENCHANTER

After several memorable performances at the “Les Musicales de Flamarens” Festival, Jean-Sébastien Bressy, songwriter, composer, and performer since 1996, returns to enchant his Gersois audience after nearly 1,000 shows to his credit.

A lover of the poems of Rimbaud and Baudelaire, Jean-Sé has the repertoire of the greatest French chanson artists at his fingertips: Brassens, Brel, Lama, Ferré, Ferrat, Renaud… These masters of French song inspire him throughout his composition work and on stage. He embodies the spirit of “singer-songwriters who sing to say something meaningful.”

Jean-Sébastien presents a program composed of personal songs that are moving, humorous, sometimes serious, but always tinged with a hint of heartfelt humor. The musical part, reminiscent of Nougaro and enriched by his piano, holds special importance, exploring eclectic worlds ranging from classical (with tributes to Beethoven and Mozart) to jazz and even rock… His presence captivates the audience, and the virtuosity of his playing beautifully serves the finesse of the lyrics.
Bressy represents “The shock of words, the emotion of the piano!”

The Artist

Jean-Sébastien Bressy was born on April 23, 1978, in Carpentras. From a young age, he was introduced to piano, classical music, and French chanson by his father. Though resistant to any “official” music lessons, he played most of the songs he loved at 12 years old without knowing sheet music, which he would learn a few years later. He began writing his first songs at 13, heavily influenced by Brel and Brassens. At 15, he performed on stage as an accompanying pianist in the show “Un air de Provence,” and he has not left the stage since. At 18, he left high school without a diploma (his honor remains intact!) and became a professional, accompanying numerous local singers who encouraged him to perform his own compositions.

At 20, he took to the stage as a songwriter and composer, winning several awards:

He released two self-produced albums, “Je joue” and “Bohémien,” recorded live, and his latest opus, “J’ai aimé ça,” released in 2013, produced by “La Table Ronde.” He has performed at numerous festivals: Venelles, Hyères, the Dimey Festival in Chaumont, the Brassens Festival in Vaison-la-Romaine, etc. He accompanied Alain Leprest in alternating performances with Nathalie Miravette and Léo Nissim in 2009-2010 while continuing his solo career.
